Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV360 vs. Shark Navigator NV356E S2: Which One Is Better?
With Shark having so many models on the market and all of them seem universally well-rated, it can be tough as a consumer to decide which one is worth the money.
We’re here to help!
In today’s comparison article, we’ll give you a side by side look between two of the most popular upright vacuums in Shark’s product line-up: the Shark Navigator Lift Away Deluxe NV360 and the Shark Navigator NV356E S2.

Both the NV360 and the NV356E S2 are equipped with 1,200 suction motors. Therefore (at least on paper), you get virtually the same suction performance on both models.
However, when both of them are put to the test, there are noticeable differences between them.
With the
Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV360, you generally get better performance on carpeting. This model has been found to be able to handle both low-pile and high-pile carpeting relatively well. Though it’s far from perfect (customers report having to conduct multiple passes to take out all debris lodged in the carpet fiber), NV360 does a great job on this front.
The Shark NV356E S2 is the opposite. According to most of the reviews, it performs better on bare surfaces like hardwood than carpeting. This isn’t to say that the NV356E S2 cannot clean carpets, however. It totally can, but it will struggle a little bit at picking up stubborn debris.
All in all, if your house has a lot of carpets and rugs, go for the
Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360. If your house has chiefly bare floors like hardwood, go for the NV356E S2.
Both vacuums weigh approximately 13 pounds. They also have more or less the same design as one another with the only visible difference between them being the color (the NV360 being painted a dark blue, while the NV356E S2 a paler teal.)
If it’s the highly versatile Lift-Away mode you’re after, both the NV360 and the NV356E S2 are designed with the feature.
For the uninitiated, Lift-Away mode is Shark’s signature convertible design. It gives you the ability to transform the vacuum from an atypical
upright vacuum cleaner to a canister vacuum. Just press a button and the vacuum’s core (called the canister) will be detached from the rest of the body. Now that it’s lighter and more mobile, you can tackle jobs that a normal upright wouldn’t be able to do like cleaning the car, the ceiling, and
carpeted stairs.
When it comes to
power cord length, the Shark NV356E S2 emerges victorious with a 30 feet power cord over the NV360’s shorter 25 feet.
The dust compartment of the NV356E S2 is drastically larger than that of the NV360. While the former can hold up to 2.4 liters of dirt and debris, the NV360 can only hold approximately 1.1 liters.
Both vacuums can be easily cleaned once they are filled up. Customers also reported that they’re very hygienic, too.
You will find the same
HEPA filter and
Anti Allergen Complete Seal technology in both models.
Conclusion
The Shark NV356E S2 is about $40 more expensive than the
Shark NV360. However, as you can see, they’re not all that different from one another much. Whatever differences they got are mostly minor.
The only recommendation we got for you is based on their performances. The costlier NV356E S2 is particularly suited for cleaning bare floors, while the NV360 has a specialty for carpeting. Choose a model in accordance to your house floor plan and you’ll be okay!
