Trying to get a certificate - what am I missing?

So I just installed the AWS instance.

Trying to get it working in chrome and I now understand that I need to get a certificate.

It looks like I should use certbot but do I install it myself or is it already present?

I don't have a registered domain and don't want to get one. the AWS instance has a subdomain name (name.compute-1.amazonaws.com) so in theory I should be able to use it right?

How do I get this going?

Hello

AWS sub-domains are not trusted for letsencrypt.
At least when we tested it didn't work.
Therefore you need FQDN.

By the way if you just play streams you don't need to import certificates.
https is mandatory if you use camera or microphone in Chrome browser
