Xeon vs i7

Can you tell whether Flashphoner performs better on a Xeon or i7? Does, for example, the transcoding performs faster or one or the other CPU?

In term of transcoding, the more CPU cores the better, CPU arcitecture is not very important. Ideally, transcoder takes one core for one stream, if possible.

So, in the case that you have only a couple of streams that need transcoding it would be better to have a few but powerful cores (i7) versus more and weaker (Xeon). Is that right?
