Clone the Server

Hi,
I would like to run some tests off-line with my media server (basically - running upgrade of the software without effecting production system)
I've cloned the media server

and changed the ip address mapping in my local hosts file to the new one.

For some reason it doesn't work
What else should I do in order to make the server run (or how to I test why it stopped running) on the cloned machine ?

Yes, you should set actual ip address to ip and ip_local parameters after cloning the server instance
On AWS EC2 intances or Google Cloud instances those parameters are detected automatically at every server launch.
